Community Key 2026 Softball Tournament: Our 5th Annual Home Run

Spending a day on the baseball field is always a great time. But a day on the diamonds to raise money for families with children in the hospital? That’s truly a day to celebrate.

On Thursday, June 25, 2026, team members from Quantus Mortgage Solutions joined friends and colleagues from across the industry at the Calgary Industrial Softball Diamonds, raising money and awareness for Community Key.

This year’s Fifth Annual Slowpitch Tournament was an incredible success, and we are still feeling such a strong sense of gratitude after seeing everyone come together for a day that truly captured the spirit of this community.

A Growing Game

The tournament has always been about much more than the game itself. Everyone gathers to enjoy the day but also support the work Community Key is doing for families with a critically injured or terminally ill child in the hospital.

What began as a fun day centred around softball has become a meaningful tradition that brings people together in support of families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.

Eight teams competed for a chance to win the Softball Invitational Cup, a title and trophy that has been awarded to a mortgage lender team for the last two years. But it wouldn’t be a three-peat this year, as new teams entered the tournament.

Tennis Ball Toss

One of this year’s standout fundraising moments came before the final game, when everyone gathered for a tennis ball toss.

Participants had the chance to purchase tennis balls and take their shot at hitting the target: a Community Key teddy bear. The challenge was simple, but the execution? Well, that was more challenging.

At the end of it all, congratulations went to John Malick, whose toss landed closest to the target and earned him the win.

The fun continued with the anticipated 50/50 draw, which was won by Steve Leishman.

Both winners contributed their winnings back to Community Key, which we are incredibly thankful for.

A New Champion Crowned

After an exciting day of round robin play, the final matchup was set. Station Athletics returned to the championship game for the second year in a row, this time facing newcomers, Multiple Scoregasms.

Both teams earned their place in the final and brought plenty of energy to the last game of the day. But when it was all over, Multiple Scoregasms came away with the tournament win and took home the Community Key Invitational Cup.

In a moment that now feels like an ongoing theme, Community Key Co-founders Paul Bojakli and Todd Fralic once again had the job of delivering the winnings to a team that was not their own. That said, Paul did make a last-minute appearance on the Multiple Scoregasms team for the final, which made the presentation all the more fitting.

The Final Score

In total, $22,000 is going into Community Key through a variety of fundraising activities, including the sale of CK-branded merchandise, the 50/50 draw, the tennis ball toss, and the incredible support of our sponsors.

That support will go directly toward helping families with a critically injured or terminally ill child in the hospital by assisting with their housing payments during an unimaginably difficult time.

Events like these are a reminder of what can happen when a community shows up for one another. Every team, every sponsor, every volunteer, and every person who took part in the day helped make a real difference.

A huge thank you is in order for all of the volunteers who helped make the day run so smoothly:
